I have my plane ticket! I leave on Tuesday, August 5th at 10:50am and arrive on August 6th at 1:45pm. I have two layovers: Las Vegas and Manchester – which means I won’t have to go through Heathrow, so I am very, very pleased. Heathrow is supposed to be near impossible to navigate, so hopefully that will relieve me of some stress.
I still need to figure out how to get from the airport in Edinburgh to my dorms. There is an airport-to-door shuttle that is about $18 but it only goes to the halls before 11am that day – which is completely useless. The express shuttle is $6 to the town centre, but then I have to figure out how to get from the centre to the halls. I suppose a taxi for such a short trip wouldn’t be terrible...ah, who knows?
Mostly I am just excited and nervous about the ticket. Now when people ask, “when are you leaving?” I’ll have an answer!
